THE APP · KONGVENE
Kongvene runs the part of a regular mahjong group that isn't the game itself: who's in this week, where everyone sits, who's hosting, and who's paid. Your group just shows up and plays.
Free for every member, on iPhone and Android.
WHAT IT DOES
Built by a Mami for the group that plays every week, not for one-off tournaments.
Tap "I'm in" and Kongvene seats you at a table of four. When tables fill, it starts a subs list, and the first sub moves up if someone drops.
Pick who's hosting each game, so everyone knows whose house it is without a group text asking.
Short a player? Send one call out to your whole circle, and the first person who can make it fills the seat.
See who's paid for game day and who hasn't. Send a friendly reminder with the organizer's Venmo link in it. Kongvene never touches the money.
Not everyone in your group wants another app, and that's okay. Organizers can share a link in the group text, and anyone can answer from their phone's browser in a few seconds.
Open the play day in Kongvene, go to the Organizer tab, and share the link. Drop it in the group text like any other message.
They see the circle, the day and time, and how many seats are filled. No account, no download, no password.
"I'm in" takes a seat at a table of four, or a spot on the subs list if every table is full. They can come back to the same link to change their answer.
Link answers show up right next to app members, marked "via link." Organizers get the same heads-up in Activity as for anyone else.
what your friends see
In the app, a link answer sits at the table like anyone else. Organizers can remove one with a tap if a name doesn't belong.
GOOD TO KNOW
No. They tap the link, type a first name, and pick an answer. That's it. If they like it, they can get the app later. Nobody has to.
Only the first name they type and their answer. No email, no phone number, no account. Their phone remembers their name so they don't have to type it again.
Only people who have the link. Each play day gets its own long, private link that search engines don't list. The organizer can turn it off anytime, and it stops working on its own two days after the game.
Add a last initial, like "Rosa M." and "Rosa T." The same name on the same play day counts as the same person, so answering again updates the answer instead of adding a second seat.
"I'm in" puts them on the subs list, the same way it works in the app. If someone drops out, the first sub moves into the open seat.
Now, on iPhone and Android. Update Kongvene to version 1.3.2 from the App Store or Google Play, and organizers will find "Share RSVP link" on each play day's Organizer tab. Friends answering a link can use any phone or computer, iPhone or Android.
